This time last year we had had a lot more interest in our nest boxes, perhaps the colder weather is delaying things a bit. Both birdcams are now online most the time, so keep your eyes peeled and let us know if you spot any activity in either of the boxes. Hopefully we will start to see birds nesting by the end of the month.

Check out some of the other school boxes on the Derbyshire Schools Birdcam Project, Rosliston Primary School has a sparrow roosting in their box at night and it might even have started building a nest! Wessington Primary School has had a blue tit roosting in their box throughout the winter, I bet they are hoping it will start to build a nest soon.
The B&W birdcam box has always been a much sort after residence, so this morning it was no surprise to see the blue tits and great tits competing for the box. I wonder if the sparrows will be along soon?
A spider seems to have taken up residence in our colourcam box, hope the cobweb doesn’t put the birds off.
We have seen the photos of your bird box cam where the bird is sitting with its eggs and think that its dead cute 🙂
I agree! I hope we get some more birds in our boxes this year. I loved the video on the project gallery of the blue tits in your (Netherseal) odd box. I wonder if they will stay to nest?
We have not seen any birds in the boxes yet. But we hope to see some very soon.
Keep watching, it looks like something has been in with some bits of nesting material. Perhaps they are waiting until the peace and quiet of the holidays!
