Fantastic Christmas jumpers everyone! Thank you for joining the Woolley (Woolley Moor !) revolution to raise funds for Save the Children!.
On Monday the whole class joined in with the’ balance-ability workshop. This is a simpler version for Reception and Key Stage 1 of the ‘Bike-ability’ workshops completed in Key Stage 2. The children completed various activities to help develop coordination, balance and core strength. All the children had a fantastic time and the instructors saw big improvements in all the children as they gained better control and balance of the bike. Well done Woodpeckers!
The Reception children had a great time on Wednesday making a ginger bread house. They have been spending the week looking at the fairy tale ‘Hansel and Gretel’ and used ideas from the story to mix, measure and bake their own woodland cottage. Very generously, the group offered everyone (even the staff!) a taste of their delicious creation! Well done Reception!!

Christmas boxes being collected for the Samaritan’s Purse Shoe Box appeal. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
SHADOW PUPPET WORKSHOP for KS2
The children has a great time working with ‘Dark Star puppets’. Children made shadow puppet characters, learnt all about different techniques and at the end of the day presented a shadow puppet story to the rest of the school. Well done everyone!
We have organised a Diwali day at school on Thursday 6th November. The children will work in mixed age ‘family’ groups and take part in a variety of workshops to learn about why and how this Hindu and Sikh festival is celebrated, including making rangoli patterns and mendhi designs as well as finding out why Diwali is a festival of light. Later on in the term as we approach Christmas – the christian festival of light , the children will be able to explore the similarities and differences in how the festivals are celebrated
There is no charge for the workshops as staff are running the activities and school will provide the materials. However we would like your help. Does anyone have any resources that we could borrow and display? eg postcards, Diwali cards, pictures, photographs of Diwali celebrations or saris, Sikh or Hindu jewellery etc. If so please send them in before Thursday. Thank you very much.
On Monday 13th some of our children visited the House of Lords in London, representing our school as winners of the national society ‘My CofE School’ video competition. We warmly invite parents of all children and grandparents to come along on Thursday afternoon at 3.00pm to see the photographs and hear about the visit.
School is closed on Friday 24th for INSET : Outstanding teaching and learning.
Children return after the autumn break on Monday 3rd November.
