During the Open morning there was an opportunity for parents to see their children’s books and to have a tour of the school and classrooms to to see displays of work. Bronze Ambassador Event
Bronze Ambassador Event Report!!!
On Tuesday 20th June 2017 the whole school took part in our Quad kids athletics event. The 4 events the children did were: long run (2 laps of the field), short run (50m sprint), standing long jump and howler javelin throw.
First of all the infants came out. We split them into 4 groups and sent them off to their first event. The children completed all 4 events with us running them and LS taking lovely photos.
Next the juniors came out and did the same.
Both groups really listened to us and made it fun for us and for them.
We have worked out the results and we have decided on a boy winner and a girl winner for each class.
The results sheets are here for people to see
The winners are …
Woodpecker class – HW and LH
Peregrine class – LH and LR
Kingfisher class – MK and RL

Attendance Information
Attendance Policy
Good Attendance means..bar chart poster
- In September 2013 the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 came into force. These regulations make it clear that Headteachers should not grant approval for any leave of absence during term-time, including holidays, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
- Any requests should be on an official school absence request form and handed into the school office for consideration prior to any holiday/leave arrangements being made.
- You may be issued with a Penalty Notice should leave be taken which is not authorised.
There has been some uncertainty recently regarding regulations about unauthorised holidays in term time and the issuing of penalty notices. We have received DCC guidance to clarify that, from September 2017 penalty notices may be issued for holidays in term time that are unauthorised, regardless of a child’s overall percentage attendance.
Living Eggs Project
The eggs and incubator arrived in school in May. We all had a chance to watch to watch the eggs hatch and the to look after the chicks. Of ten eggs, only seven hatched and sadly one chicken died soon after hatching. Mr Cooke looked after the chicks over the first weekend and nurtured a sick one back to health by setting his alarm and getting up several times during the night to hand feed the chick and rub its wonky leg, so it could stand up and walk.
Soon it was time to Find a home for the growing chicks. JW and his family offered to look after all the chicks and they have been adopted by one of the family’s hens. See below.
