Last year, our old B&W birdcam was replaced by a new bird box fitted with a colour camera. No birds nested in it during the first year although it has attracted roosting birds.
The bird box image refreshes every 10 seconds. Check the time/date stamp to see if the birdcam is currently online. We occasionally stream live video to our SEGfL Bird Box Project page.
Let us know what you have seen happening in our new colour Infant Birdcam box by leaving a comment below. Last year’s comments can be seen on the Infant Birdcam – 2014 page.
What a surprise to see web cam up and running. Shape of bird, presumably Blue Tit roosting in front right corner 7.45 pm 20th Feb.
Blue tit roosting again tonight
Blue tit just arrived in the box for the night.
…… and left at 6.23 am this morning, on what if the weather here is anything like where you are, is very windy.
Yes, windy here too. I think I would have stayed put in the box!
Infant birdcam offline 3/4/15, will have to wait until after Easter to reset.
Reset 9th Aprl, still no nest but a Blue Tit visiting early Thursday morning.
Good to see cam has been reset. I am surprised no evidence of nest material, as I have a Blackbird with young in the ivy.
Roosting tonight again.
Front bottom right, is it a nest forming?
Mmmm not sure, could just be a few feathers. It’s getting a bit late for them to start nesting although I have Blue tits at home who have only just started nest building. We shall have to keep our fingers crossed!
A few grass stalks appearing, but never see them bringing them in.
