The BBC Terrific Scientific project is an nationwide scheme for primary schools which aims to get children taking part in real scientific investigations, with results contributing to university studies.
During 2016- 17 we took part in all the investigations. As a result of the hard work and dedication of our staff and children our school has been awarded Terrific Scientific ‘School of Excellence’ status. This award is supported by the Primary Science Quality Mark and the BBC. We have received a BBC Terrific Scientific Certificate of Excellence and a digital logo to use on our website/ letterheads etc.
We are continuing the project this year with further studies. Children will be learning all about how exercise can affect their brains, investigating how the local terrain can influence their feet, discovering how best to grow spring onions and further developing their skills as scientists, undertaking their own research.
