School Ethos, Vision and Values

Ethos

Stretton Handley CE (VC) Primary School is a Church of England school. Our ethos is founded on Christian teaching and values and in particular recognises the uniqueness and worth of each individual member of the school, both children and adults alike, all of whom are loved by God.

With this in mind the aim of the school is to encourage children to reflect this love by learning to understand and respect the various beliefs, traditions and practices of others, both within the school and the wider community.

Our purpose is to ensure that pupils leave us with a maturing understanding of the experiences and values of others and a growing sense of identity based on personal values and self-worth within a diverse community.

Vision

Growing, caring and learning together.

We will strive to enable all our children to achieve their full potential as learners and be the best they can be as individuals within a Christian framework and an environment of outstanding care, support and spiritual guidance. We will give the children experiences that leave them with a joy for learning and expressing their own talents. We will ensure the learning process is exciting and fun for the children. With a strong feeling of friendship and care throughout school we will develop the children’s ability to integrate well and ultimately the social confidence to contribute to the world.

Through our links with the community we will develop the children’s sense of belonging and knowledge of what it is to contribute and receive.

We will make maximum use of our stunningly beautiful setting and grounds to enrich the children’s learning and provide them with ‘space to grow’, in which they will have exciting real life experiences. Through this we will enable them to experience awe and wonder of the world, develop an appreciation of beauty and value the environment around them.
