We hold an annual school games afternoon towards the in the end of the summer term. It is always very well attended and enjoyed by parents who also have an opportunity to join in. The format is competitive and fun. Children are split into 4 colour teams indicated by a length of ribbon attached to their T-shirt. Children attain a “1st, “2nd”, “3rd” or “Well Done” sticker for their ribbon and all children take part in every activity. There are traditional races like running relays, egg and spoon, sack race as well as activities like javelin, skipping, cat and mouse and football dribbling. At the end of the afternoon the team with the highest point score wins a cup and everyone enjoys an ice lolly. Mums, dads, grandparents and pre-school children also take part in their own races.
