Religious Education and Church Activities

Our RE curriculum is based on the Derbyshire and Derby City Agreed Syllabus 2020-2025 and more information can be found in our Religious Education Policy.

Each term the Church Council decide on a theme for Collective Worship linked to the ‘Values for Life’ programme.

Children learn that compassion is about ‘standing in someone else’s shoes’ when they are having a hard time, understand how they are feeling and how we can do our best to help others in need.

Children learn that God was not only King, but he was also a servant. They learn that everyone is equal and that humility is a quality of being respectful of others.

Faith Trail around Derby

The whole school visited Derby and took part in a faith trail. We visited a variety of places of worship, including a Hindu Mandir, Sikh Gurdwara, Mosque and Christian Baptist Church. We looked at different art forms, including paintings of the gurus, representations of Jesus and the use of symbol and pattern.
