Lea Green Outdoor Centre

Our Junior children make extensive use of the facilities at Lea Green Outdoor Centre which is run by Derbyshire County Council. Located only five miles from the Centre, the school is able to participate in the many workshops it runs throughout the year.
Adventures at Lea Green
During the Summer Term, Years 4, 5 & 6 attend a 3 day residential course, taking part in activities such as rock scrambling, orienteering, river walking, night walks, day trips to Carsington Reservoir, as well as indoor and outdoor sports and games.
Year 6 also attend a Science Day, with activities led by Centre staff and PGCE students from Sheffield Hallam University. These have included; investigations into worms, minibeasts, soils and trees; building rockets and helicopters; and pond dipping.
The Centre also provides a venue for sporting events such as an interschool Kwik cricket tournament
