World War II Topic

The Juniors studied the curriculum topic, World War II, during Autumn Term 2000. On loan from the School Library service were documents and other relics of the era.

A trip was made to Eden Camp, Yorkshire. The Camp was originally a Prisoner of War Camp and the buildings have been kept in their original state with the museum constructed inside them. The children particularly enjoyed eating their packed lunches in the "Mess".

At the end of the term the juniors put to good use the information they had learnt by throwing a "street style party" for older members of the community and grandparents. They sang songs and played their recorders. Tea and cakes were served. recorders.jpg - 66522 Bytes
