Football match vs Sharley Park B

LM (C) dribbling down the wing.

On  a wet evening, Stretton Handley hosted Sharley Park, on the 18th October 2017.

A depleted  Stretton Handley team, due to injury, dictated the first half, creating many chances. LM hit a low free kick from the half way line with extreme power, only for a fantastic save from the goalkeeper to keep the score at 0-0. MH and RJ were tormenting the Sharley Park defence but couldn’t find the net.

Just before half time, Sharley Park had a couple of chances but they were stopped by some fantastic defending from LH, RL and player of the match GH.

The second half saw much of the same as Stretton continued to dominate. Eventually Stretton took the lead through captain LM, as he dribbled down the wing and smashed a powerful effort into the back of the net, 1-0. However, straight from kick off, Sharley Park managed to shoot and score a long range shot to equalise. With 5 minutes to go Sharley managed to take the lead with a low effort into the corner. Stretton pushed for the equaliser but with 30 seconds left Sharley broke away again and added a 3rd, to make the final score 3-1 to Sharley Park.

A great game of football was seen by all with some good skill on display from both teams!
